LIFE’s spiritual values heal

And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish Thou the work of our hands for us—yea, the work of our hands, establish Thou it” (New KJV; Ps. 90:17).

The above biblical verse is both a humility-asserting one and an assurance-raising one.  It turns us to the irrepressible and inexhaustible divine source who is LIFE-SOUL for everything.

SOUL-GOD is our divine designer and our endless fountain of spiritual values.  Our inner, spiritual essence is the oeuvre of LIFE-GOD and this makes us richly endowed with SOUL’s victory-producing values.  Our genuine purpose is to live our intrinsic spiritual values.  By starting from this premise for everything we do in life we behave more calmly, caringly, self-assured and perform more effectively.

Having coached, counseled and prayed for adults on behalf of their professional and personal lives I can say with certainty that connecting to our SOUL-implanted values is a transformative process.

I’ve been a witness to how the expression of SOUL’s spiritual values has mended ruptured relationships, revived broken businesses, and made whole lives that were lost.

There is winning and failure in life, like there is in sports.  We can learn from both.  Failure, of course, occurs more often than winning.  Because failure tends to bring us down it is ripe with life-lessons.  By selecting to learn from them we gain wisdom-filled experience.

There is a limitless array of spiritual values which SOUL expresses in us.  Humility, discipline, persistence, love and resiliency are some of the ones that lift us out of failure and prepare us for success.

A win-at-all-costs attitude, along with pride, avarice, and fear generate dishonesty, anger, insecurity, aggression and even violence.  But these negatives evaporate into nothingness when we allow our spiritual nature to come to the front.

SOUL-GOD has given us mastery over character faults.  As we exercise our spiritual mastery it becomes easier to transition from setbacks, obstacles and disappointments into victory.

SOUL’s ideas and values act like an abstergent force in our lives by removing anything that demeans, corrupts, or impedes our health and advancement.

SOUL-MIND enables all of us with daring, creative, inventive and innovative attributes.  These keep us from being afraid to make mistakes and fail.  Our spiritual resiliency, elasticity and determination flush away self-condemnation and mental paralysis.

This biblical scripture fills us with spiritual confidence: “7 For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; 8 A land of wheat and barley, and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey; 9 A land in which you shall eat food without shortage and lack nothing in it…” (Amplified Bible; Deut. 8: 7-9).

These are important lessons to teach to our children.  We must be full of LOVE’s love when we teach them anything.  When they fail at anything we need to lift them up by reminding them that they are SOUL’s outstanding expressions.  This does not mean giving them false or empty praise.  We can praise them for specific things that they have done well and address with exactitude what and how to improve.  It is imperative for their growth that we have hard and honest conversations about the life-lessons they need to ponder and learn, and about how to get better.

Successful coaches like Phil Jackson study their players and learn to balance precise praise with precise correction.

It takes effort to do well.  It demands re-filling our spiritual tanks regularly.  This process imparts mental and emotional fortitude and equipoise.  Exact, honest and consistent self-analysis, correction and praise help us reach our goals.

LOVE-GOD makes us able to treat ourselves and others – adults and children – with empathy, forgiveness, gentleness, love and intelligence.

We get a big boost up from understanding that our spiritual make-up is the praise of SOUL-LOVE.
