Life-Principle’s exuberance is ours

M. B. Eddy explains that when she was dying from the injuries suffered during her fall on the icy sidewalk, she discerned that “all real being is in God, the divine Mind, and that Life, Truth, and Love are all-powerful and ever-present.”  She also saw that all physical illnesses/injuries are a “false testimony”—a mistaken, foreign mental imposition coming from the world’s carnal mentality.

Her complete recovery and the hundreds of healings she witnessed in others gave her the conviction to write, “Life is, always has been, and ever will be independent of matter; for Life is God, and man is the idea of God, not formed materially but spiritually, and not subject to decay and dust.”

We are bombarded daily by the common evidence of suffering, fear, conflicts and physical death.  A material and medical view of life argues insistently, and often persuasively, for man’s fragile, decaying physical existence.   But these specious mental impositions are no match for our spiritual counteroffensive.

Jesus proved that real existence is spiritual and indestructible because it is a part of immortal Life.  We are upheld, defended and fed by divine Principle, who is the source of all goodness.  We are a part of ever-expanding, non-material and ageless Life.

We can accept our Principle-given health, beauty, permanence, and holy purpose.  Our only reference point, or departure point, for spiritual learning and improved living is that we live in the eternal, exuberant Life-Principle of being.
