Radical acts = radical results

Christ Jesus tells us that "it is the spirit that quickeneth; the  flesh profiteth nothing."  (John 6:63)  It is connecting to the radical, propulsive force of LOVE-SPIRIT that enables us to experience outstanding outcomes. 

The term "flesh" can signify an ossified, matter-enslaved attitude which traps us within physicality, sameness and disappointments.   I value the term "spirit" as the liberating, exalting and energizing impact of infinite LOVE-SPIRIT.   

SPIRIT-LOVE induces deep and substantial changes in our perceptions, attitudes and actions.  It releases our innate, divine energies to produce marvelous accomplishments and healings. 

This is a common saying, “Be the change you want.”  It makes sense that the launching pad for successful change around us is our own.  Through honest self-assessment we may find that we need to correct some selfish motives and unkind feelings.  For instance, most of us can recall discordant human relationships that did not improve until we learned to forgive and love the other individual.  Then there are those larger instances when much effort and money has been expended to improve a business or social condition and the end result was failure, because greed and dishonesty were driving the effort.     

The radical thinker and doer, Mary Baker Eddy, laser-beams our efforts with this statement: "What we most need is the prayer of fervent desire for growth in grace, expressed in patience, meekness, love and good deeds" (S&H 4: 3-5). 

Prayer that takes to heart "Thy will be done" helps us to realize that in reality every part of our being is dependent upon SPIRIT.  God is our only SOUL and MIND, and our only LIFE.  Our true substance, or identity, is SOUL-SPIRIT’s own likeness.  Our LOVE-reflected identity is eternally perfect and magnificent.  The more we give ourselves to this truth of being the more our human character and experience will change to reflect the spiritual fact. 

In my personal experience I have found that I have accomplished the most good by allowing LOVE’s wisdom and purity to impact me.  SPIRIT-LOVE washes away such negative influences as envy, greed, and fear.  It instills in us courage, generosity, innovation and boldness.   These radical changes induce radical effects in our personal and professional relationships. 

Jesus was radical.  His thinking and actions were radical, and so were the outcomes.  He sought and expressed LOVE’s wisdom and might. 

Jesus’ inner spirit is given by GOD to everyone.  It is ours because our spiritual essence is the product of SPIRIT-LIFE.  The Christ-spirit is holy power that is deeply imbedded in all.  We release it via growth in understanding and grace.  Once it is unleashed it overcomes seemingly insurmountable obstacles. 

The Christ-spirit is a catalyst for radical changes.  It is the “spirit that quickeneth.”  Willfulness, ego-centrism and pride make way for spiritual grace, dominion and triumph.  It transforms mere personal effort into divinely empowered activity. 

To infinite GOOD-GOD, who is omnipotent SPIRIT, no human condition is too difficult to resolve.  As the Bible says, "he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth" (Job 23: 13).

The answers to the problems facing us — whether large or small — are at hand.  They are revealed to us by LOVE-MIND.  Our Christly spirit makes us able to hear and implement successful answers. 

The will of SOUL is limitless blessings for His beloved children.  Divine MIND’s intelligence enables us to leap over impossible odds.  Honest, humble, and yielding prayer align us with the will of the all-intelligent MIND-LOVE.  This multiplies the blessings for everyone involved. 

Radical acts and radical results indicate a LOVE-inspired life. 

MIND propels us

MIND propels our health, life and progress. The young man was sitting on the window ledge on the third level of the house, listening to Paul's teachings, when sleep took over, causing him to fall to the ground level and die. "But Paul went down, bent over him and holding him gently in his arms, said, 'Don't be alarmed; he is still alive.' ... they took him alive, feeling immeasurably relieved." Eddy: "Christian Science reveals incontrovertibly that Mind is All-in-all, that the only realities are the divine Mind and idea." SOUL-LIFE's imperial laws of life, health and concord protect and sustain us.  They revive us from pain, illness, despair, loss, sin and death.  Our spiritual composition flourishes incessantly in GOD, and this fact commands healing and progress in our experience. "Moreover we know that to those who love God, who are called according to his plan, everything that happens fits into a pattern for good." Eddy: "Truth is affirmative and confers harmony." We are rescued from setbacks, failures, breakdowns and fears by the understanding that these conditions are mortal dreams which never affect our spiritual identities in SOUL.  What is LOVE's plan for us?  It is continual harmony and progress.  

Triumph from failure

We can draw beneficial lessons from mistakes and failures. 

When we submerge ourselves in the baptismal “waters” of LOVE-MIND we emerge wiser and more capable.  The saga of the Biblical character Joseph proves this several times.

Joseph, the youngest and imprudent son of Jacob and Rachel, told his older brothers this dream: “We were out in the field, tying up bundles of grain.  Suddenly my bundle stood up, and your bundles all gathered around and bowed low before mine!”  He threw it in their face that he believed he was superior to them. 

Having been treated as a preferred child by his parents, Joseph grew up to be a spoiled, self-centered, arrogant and foolish man.   No wonder his brothers came to resent him.  Sadly, in an act of vengeance they sold him into slavery. 

A wealthy Egyptian named Potiphar bought him.  Joseph had now begun a process of self-analysis and personal correction.  He was submitting to the morphing effects of LOVE's intelligence.  This continued and over time Potiphar came to trust Joseph implicitly.  He even assigned to Joseph the command over all his affairs. 

One day Potiphar’s wife attempted to seduce Joseph and when he did not oblige she accused him of rape.  Potiphar was deceived by his wife’s false accusations and he took great umbrage at Joseph’s betrayal.  He condemned innocent Joseph and threw him into prison.

Instead of succumbing to self-pity and hatred, Joseph rejoiced in his innocence and trusted TRUTH’s divine laws of justice to bless him.   While imprisoned he enhanced his understanding and reflection of INTELLIGENCE-LOVE. 

His disciplined, spiritually attuned and studious lifestyle sharpened his mind.  He acquired acute, MIND-derived insight and foresight.  His spiritual awareness showed itself in mental agility and perspicacity.  He often resolved the complex problems of his fellow prisoners and of his jailers. 

After two years he was widely recognized for being a man of proven integrity and wisdom.  Then PRINCIPLE-GOD’S laws of infinite opportunity produced a great surprise.  He was called before Pharaoh to interpret his anxious dreams.  Pharaoh was dissatisfied with his courtside interpreters. 

Joseph did it so brilliantly that he was freed from prison by Pharaoh and placed in charge of managing the rich grain harvests, including saving and storing for periods of drought.  Over time he rose to be the second most powerful man in Egypt. 

Seven years later a seven-year drought and famine struck Egypt and the surrounding lands.  This situation brought many people from faraway places, including his family from Canaan, to settle in Egypt.  This is how Joseph came to re-unite with his family. 

Although at first it was a painful experience to see his brothers, his LOVE-obtained sensibilities made it possible to forgive and help them.

Out of the currents of LOVE-MIND come infinite spiritual qualities and attributes.  Joseph had proven this, and again he relied on those divine flows to express forgiveness, love and generosity. 

Forgiveness is liberating.  It stops us from being victims.  It fuels joy and prosperity.   We start living as victors.

SOUL-LOVE manifests in us an eternal, immaculate, spiritual essence.  Our uncontaminated, non-material and immortal constitution is the mirror image of SOUL-GOD. 

This spiritual comprehension produces internal and external wholeness.   It is the effect of TRUTH understood.  Psychological and physical scars can disappear under the blazing light of TRUTH.  Even those derived from past failures, betrayals and extreme cruelty -- even from torture – are elided completely. 

Our spiritual baptisms make this scripture authentic: “Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.”

GOD is our perfect PRINCIPLE and we are its impeccable and resplendent effect.  This comprehension is the propulsive force that morphs us out of tribulations and downfalls into triumph. 

At every juncture “… it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.”

Spiritual revelation heals

When we embrace a spiritual and metaphysical interpretation of the Bible we can perceive Mind-Love’s revelations.  These spiritual insights generate admirable healings. 

Mind-Love’s revelations to us are continuous.  We can perceive and be altered by them even when we are surrounded by the cacophony of problems.  This happens because our spiritual receptors are correlated with Mind-Love.

The following verses are examples of how spiritual interpretation heals. 

 “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand ….”  

This Biblical verse often ignites in me a sense of wonder and expectation.  It connects me to the commanding and effecting power of Love-God.  One time a friend’s broken toe experienced instant healing as a result of the spiritual clarity this passage gave us. 

“We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.”  

Dwelling deeply on this one has brought many out of what seemed at the time to be a bottomless hole of troubles.  The fact that it commences with gratitude for Spirit’s beneficent might can jolt us out of self-pity and fright.  One can feel raised up by the preeminence of divine Good-God.  Then difficulties began to get resolved in surprising ways.  I’ve seen new pathways open up to dead-end situations.

I cherish the inspiration and healings obtained from this one: “This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.” 

The amazing love and acceptance it communicates is meant for everyone, not just for Christ Jesus.  The beloved “son/daughter” it refers to is every person’s spiritual identity.  It cannot be otherwise because Mind-God sees in each person a non-physical, immaculate image of its limitless divine qualities.   Thousands have experienced complete reformation and restoration as a result of this inspired interpretation.

Sin, sickness and death are flesh-bound mentality’s aggressive lies.  They are aggressive because they are impotent and so pretentious intimidation is their tool of trade.   Fortunately, sovereign Truth revealed and understood is imperious over all lies.

Material reasoning is initially apathetic to spiritual interpretation.   It reacts with antagonism once it figures out that the revelation of Spirit’s preponderance destroys it. 

Take for instance some of the resistance expressed by the people in the synagogue to Jesus’ healing of the man’s withered hand.   Even after the wonderful healing had taken place the New Testament comments that those present “were filled with madness and communed with one another what they might do to Jesus.” 

We can feel confident, though, because “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.”  We can thrust forward with our spiritual growth certain that evil’s antagonism is eviscerated by it.

            Hear and feel Love-Mind’s revelations, and enjoy their innumerable blessings.

We are thriving in MIND

“He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arm and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young” (Is. 40:11).

Magnanimous LOVE is pouring its outstanding resources and sheltering everyone.   Moses’ discernment of SOUL’s plentiful goodness produced the necessary water and food to nourish those journeying through the desert.  Our “desert or wilderness” may be unbearable, but SOUL/LOVE pulls us through it successfully.  Divine munificence is encompassing and liberating the world.

                We coexist with SPIRIT-MIND in a correlated relationship.  SPIRIT-MIND produces exorbitant riches throughout its ever-unfolding creation and we reflect everything in it. 

          19^th century thinker and healer, M. B. Eddy, wrote: “God, the divine Principle of man and man in God’s likeness are inseparable, harmonious, and eternal” (S&H). 

MIND is the all-determining “I AM” who is producing excellence in its illimitable creation.  All spiritual action, condition, substance and effect manifests the infinite health, harmony and immortality of the “I AM.”  

Downfalls, illness, betrayals, malice, fear and impediments are swept away by SPIRIT’s cascading goodness.  Our conscious communion with divine GOOD-GOD annuls their mesmeric nature. 

                Jesus proved that we live in, are protected by and empowered by MIND.   The centurion, Cornelius, and the lame man at the Bethesda pool welcomed Jesus’ spiritual convictions.  Their healing experiences, like ours today, are the natural outcome of accepting the all-encompassing, time-less preeminence of LOVE-MIND.

          Mind is Principle, and “Mind’s infinite idea, man and the universe, is the product.”   SOUL-MIND includes the “mental molecule to infinity.”  It reveals all “Science and art.”  It generates everything beautiful, interminable and whole. 

          LIFE-MIND multiplies our health; PRINCIPLE-MIND amplifies our talents; LOVE-MIND enriches our relationships; and TRUTH-MIND opens new doors of opportunities. 

          We are thriving in the fecundity and irrepressible goodness of MIND. 

We have been commissioned by TRUTH to conquer troubles.

^39-41At daybreak, no one recognized the land—but then they did notice a bay with a nice beach. They decided to try to run the ship up on the beach. They cut the anchors, loosed the tiller, raised the sail, and ran before the wind toward the beach. But we didn't make it. Still far from shore, we hit a reef and the ship began to break up. ^42-44The soldiers decided to kill the prisoners so none could escape by swimming, but the centurion, determined to save Paul, stopped them. He gave orders for anyone who could swim to dive in and go for it, and for the rest to grab a plank. Everyone made it to shore safely (The Message; Acts 27: 41-44).


Eddy: “The manifestations of evil, which counterfeit divine justice, are called in the Scriptures, “The anger of the Lord.” In reality, they show the self-destruction of error or matter and point to matter’s opposite, the strength and permanency of Spirit.”


Destructive situations, diseases, and conflicts represent internal and external storms.  But because these troubles are mere counterfeits of MIND’s harmonious order we can subdue them with spiritual cognition, which makes us masters over them.  Our reflection of MIND imposes MIND’s peace, order, success and plentitude. 

Being transformational instruments of LOVE

“Nothing worth doing can be achieved in our lifetime; therefore we must be saved by hope. Nothing which is true or beautiful or good makes complete sense in any immediate context of history; therefore we must be saved by faith. Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone; therefore we are saved by love. No virtuous act is quite as virtuous from the standpoint of our friend or foe as it from our standpoint. Therefore we must be saved by the final form of love, which is forgiveness.”

“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind (New Living Translation; Mathew 22:36-37).

M. B. Eddy: “Man and his Maker are correlated in divine Science, and real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God.”

Hope, faith, love and forgiveness are four of LOVE’s infinite spiritual qualities.  Like all of LOVE’s qualities, these four express transformational power.

To live by them makes us better fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends and citizens.  It helps greatly to understand that because we are LOVE’s incorporeal ideas, spiritual qualities are integral to our non-material composition.   

Hope is both an aspiration and an expectation of good.  Our hope is stronger and more consistent when we start from the realization that all health, resources and intelligence emanate from unbounded and preeminent SPIRIT-GOD.  Hope morphs into faith.

Faith is more than an expectation of good; it is a state of certainty.  With illumined faith we are convinced that what we are striving for is achievable.  We are more persistent, disciplined and joyous when we are full of certainty.  Our communion with SOUL-GOD imparts glowing faith, this intuitive sense that all good is achievable.  Everything meaningful is attainable because GOOD-GOD is the unsurpassable fountain of infinite goodness. 

LOVE-GOD is the essential substance of the spiritual universe and of man.  Human love, in its purest, most generous and effective form, is the outcome of LOVE-GOD, who is superlative intelligence and might.  Spiritual love binds us together, protects us, and it promotes wondrous achievements.

Forgiveness is a liberating expression of LOVE.  It extirpates hatred and revenge, which can otherwise ruin us from inside out.  To forgive is to assert our LOVE-given spiritual wholeness, liberty and might.  The more we forgive the more its spreads in others. 

Hope, faith, love and forgiveness produce healing change.  By living them daily we act as SOUL’s dynamic, transformational instruments. 

Temptations annulled

M. B. Eddy: “The Science Jesus taught and lived must triumph over all material beliefs and about life, substance, and intelligence, and the multitudinous errors growing from such beliefs.”

Our spiritual intelligence can laser through the fraudulent deceptions (temptations) of materiality. 

(New Living Bible) He ate nothing during those days and afterward Jesus was starving. ³ The devil said to him, “Since you are God’s Son, command this stone to become a loaf of bread.”  ⁴ Jesus replied, “It’s written, People won’t live only by bread.”

When hungering for something good we can have more of it by perceiving and striving for its spiritual substance, and by comprehending that MIND-LOVE produces limitless goodness.

⁵ Next the devil led him to a high place and showed him in a single instant all the kingdoms of the world. ⁶ The devil said, “I will give you this whole domain and the glory of all these kingdoms. It’s been entrusted to me and I can give it to anyone I want. ⁷ Therefore, if you will worship me, it will all be yours.”  ⁸ Jesus answered, “It’s written, You will worship the Lord your God and serve only him.”

Since materiality is a mortal illusion it does not have anything but illusions to offer.  We can have infinite, spiritual substance by discerning the allness of SPIRIT and its interminable providing. 

⁹ The devil brought him into Jerusalem and stood him at the highest point of the temple. He said to him, “Since you are God’s Son, throw yourself down from here; ¹⁰ for it’s written: He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you ¹¹ and they will take you up in their hands so that you won’t hit your foot on a stone.”  ¹² Jesus answered, “It’s been said, Don’t test the Lord your God.”^[

Our attentiveness to LOVE’s wisdom protects us from foolish and empty acts.  Materialized thinking is blind to the infinite ways in which LOVE sustains and empowers us all the time.  But our spiritual sensibility is certain of the paramount concord and progressive impetus which MIND-GOD imparts to us.    

Harmonious Life is our reality

Divine Life enforces harmony, vitality and interminable purpose in everyone.  Illness, sin and death are unlawful and impotent deceptions.  These are key and powerful concepts of divine metaphysics.

Life is independent of corporeal limits.  This comprehension has resuscitative and life-enhancing effects.  The spiritual insights lived by Jesus and his followers resurrected many from death, made sickly lives into healthy ones, and re-directed others from sinful to righteous living.   

The apostle Paul said that Jesus’ spiritual achievements taught him that everyone possesses an indestructible, celestial composition. 

          The book of Proverbs (in Hebrew it is called Wisdom Literature) says that “The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.” 

Christly reasoning -- spiritual-metaphysical-wisdom – compels ever-increasing wellness.  It displaces immoral, fearful, ignorant, stagnant and insipid mental habits.  Corporeal views weigh us down, but Mind-God’s influence makes us soar to new heights of health, fulfillment and accomplishment. 

We may have been regarded as hopeless and almost dead, but with Life’s renewing power and limitless resources we can sprout again. 

The book of Job says it beautifully.  “For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender shoots of it will not cease.  Though its root grows old in the earth, and its stock dies in the ground, yet through the scent of water the stump of the tree will bud, and bring forth boughs like a young plant” (Job, Amplified Bible).

By understanding that we emanate from unbounded, divine Spirit-Life we erase decline, decay and death. 

Hezekiah, the king of Judah (715-687 BCE) was healed of a death-inducing disease.  His prayers divested him of sickly, vulnerable and material beliefs, and entrenched him in Life’s health, strength and energy. 

When Jesus raised the widow’s only son from death he also raised her from misery.  Most likely her son was her singular economic support.  When women of that era lost a son or husband they were left dependent on others’ charity.  Some fell into poverty, homelessness, and even prostitution. 

We cannot lose our Spirit-based health, life, companionship, support and security.  These are a part of our divine inheritance and our expression of them is unstoppable. 

Turn-of-the-century, metaphysical healer, M. B. Eddy, wrote that to us belong “the glorious possibilities of immortal man, forever unlimited by the mortal senses.”  And that Life-Truth “… holds the divine order or spiritual law, in which God and all that He creates are perfect and eternal, to have remained unchanged in its eternal history.” 

Ever-flourishing Life fuels us.  This fact is a divine law which releases resurrection-like effects.  It infuses our relationships, organizations, careers, and bodies (including organs, bones, cells and functions) with dynamic vitality. 

Soul-Life and man co-exist in eternal, uninterrupted harmony.   Even the words pre-existence and post-existence do not do justice to our time-free reality. 

The same goes for the word heaven.  Heaven is not a place.  It is the ever-present, all-encompassing atmosphere of Love-God. 

The ambience of Life-Intelligence is our complete reality.  This insight directs us with creative, bold and successful solutions.  When implemented these ideas ameliorate sickness, poverty, sin, war and misery. 

          Life’s spiritual revelations act as the Biblical “trumpet sound” which awakens and raises us to an incorruptible, overflowing and rewarding experience. 

We are the glorious blossoming of SPIRIT-LIFE

⁴ The Spirit of God has made me, And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

Eddy: “Nothing cut Spirit, Soul, can evolve Life, for Spirit is more than all else.”

SPIRIT-SOUL determines, energizes and individualizes all being.  We are the flowering of LIFE-SPIRIT's superabundant health, intelligence, substance and love. 

Acts 17:22-25 (GOD’S WORD Translation)

 ²²Paul stood in the middle of the court and said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious. ²³As I was going through your city and looking closely at the objects you worship, I noticed an altar with this written on it: ‘To an unknown god.’ I’m telling you about the unknown god you worship. ²⁴The God who made the universe and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth. He doesn’t live in shrines made by humans, ²⁵and he isn’t served by humans as if he needed anything. He gives everyone life, breath, and everything they have.

M. B. Eddy: “We should consecrate existence, not ‘to the unknown God’ whom we ‘ignorantly worship,’ but to the eternal builder, the everlasting Father, to the Life which mortal sense cannot impair nor mortal belief destroy.  We must realize the ability of mental might to offset human misconceptions and to replace them with the life which is spiritual, not material.”

SPIRIT’s ever-unfolding grandeur, not material evolution, gives us interminable and vibrant life, immutable love and health, and inexhaustible means and opportunities.

M. B. Eddy: “The universe of Spirit reflects the creative power of the divine Principle, or Life, which reproduces the multitudinous forms of Mind and governs the multiplication of the compound idea man.”

SPIRIT is LIFE and its activity is timeless, dynamic, creative, and continual.  Man and the universe are the vigorous blossoming of SPIRIT’s awesome substance. There is no death, destruction nor aging to fear or experience when we are in accord with our immortal essence. 

Flying higher on the wings of divine Science

                                                        

 

It is helpful to ask ourselves often: “Is this thought, feeling or decision based on SOUL’s eternal, spiritual facts, or on temporal, physical beliefs?” 

Metaphysical Science teaches that only spiritual, transcendent interpretations of life assert wellness and progress.  Even good human ideas, if premised on matter, will cause us to drift toward entropy.

Jesus encourages us to liberate ourselves from materiality, to take flight on the wings of spiritual sense.  He said, “Except a man be born of water and Spirit (be born again to a spiritual sense of life), he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (perceive ultimate Truth).” 

M. B. Eddy adds to this: “Human birth, growth, maturity, and decay are as the grass springing from the soil with beautiful green blades, afterwards to wither and return to its native nothingness.”  She also says, “The evidence of man’s immortality will become more apparent, as material beliefs are given up and the immortal facts of being are admitted.”

I have felt these surges of spiritual freedom many times.  On one occasion the divine uplift healed me of chronic and acute back pain.  I went from being unable to move, to leaping and praising SPIRIT-GOD. 

We are endowed with the “... grand possibilities of immortal man, forever unlimited by the mortal senses.”  Our Christly understanding casts off the fearful, painful, fragile, sinful, aging and dying concepts of matter-trapped thinking.   

Like Jacob, who shed his troubled past and started anew, spiritual knowledge rebuilds our lives with immortal health, intelligence, love, power, grace and bounty.  

We can use the “wings” of divine Science to attain new heights of wisdom and wellness. 

LOVE-GOD’s amplifying forces

LOVE-GOD is amplifying our health, intelligence and goodness.  It is our underlying, overlying, all-surrounding and all-defining, spiritual substance. 

In his parable of the “planter and seed” Jesus points out several impediments to our spiritual advancement.  He says that matter-based thinking can distract us from MIND’s healing messages; or, if we hear them, we may be too stubborn to permit spiritual changes to take root; or, if they do begin to take root, we may not be patient and consistent enough for their sanative effects to reveal themselves. 

How do we experience the amplificatory forces of LOVE-GOD?  The answer is to be spiritually hungry, alert and consecrated. 

Ultimately, THE WORD, says the Bible, is GOD, which in metaphysics means that it is INFINITE-GOODNESS in action. 

The prophets, Jesus, the disciples, and many other spiritual strivers throughout human history have discerned and expressed the vital presence, awesomeness and effectiveness of MIND-GOD.  We can, too. 

LOVE-GOD expresses unstoppable spiritual health, life and abundance.  It is producing in us creative and boundless possibilities. 

As MIND-GOD’s expressions we cannot be inhibited by matter-concepts -- by molecules, atoms, fear, enemies, and negative habits.  We are magnificent masterpieces of SOUL-GOD, constructed of its celestial elements and forces.

By training ourselves to reason from an infinite and non-material basis we can “hear” and “feel” the healing messages of LOVE.  We can be as open to MIND-LOVE as the boy Samuel was, and declare, “I hear, act upon, and experience your healing and amplifying power, dear LOVE-GOD.”

We get a huge boost from understanding that MIND-GOD views us as its outstanding expressions, and that our spiritual constitution manifests its brilliance and dynamism.   

The Roman commander of 100 men (the centurion) readily recognized in Jesus the efficacy and authority of matter-transcending TRUTH.   Jesus praised him and healed his servant because of it.  We too can learn to recognize, trust and yield to the healing power of Christ – TRUTH’s ever-present, sanative might and authority. 

TRUTH-GOD says to our troubles and shortcomings, “I AM ALL.”  When we accept this universal and glorious fact it erases from our lives whatever is not GOD’s expression. 

LOVE-TRUTH, the “I AM ALL,” is doing this for us right now:

Enlarging our vision of what is possible

Generating our opportunities

Broadening our reach

Extending our capacities

Widening our connections

Strengthening our relations

Augmenting our supply

Expanding our ingenuity

Multiplying our creativity

Boosting our confidence

Revealing our limitless inheritance

          We can be immensely grateful to LOVE-GOD.

Our spiritual identity is at the right hand of MIND

Genesis 1:26 (21st Century King James Version)

 ²⁶And God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Eddy: “All that is made is the work of God, and all is good.”

The first chapter of Genesis, wherein a GOOD/GOD regards his handiwork as “very good,” was written 400 years later than the second chapter of Genesis, wherein a failed creator employs matter to make a failed creation. By taking our cue from the 1^st chapter of Genesis we can deduce that INTELLIGENCE/LOVE expresses its unrestrained beauty, wholeness, excellence and permanence throughout a matter-free universe and in incorporeal man/woman. 

Genesis 3:13 (21st Century King James Version)

 ¹³And the LORD God said unto the woman, "What is this that thou hast done?" And the woman said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I ate."

Eddy: “Adam and his progeny were cursed, not blessed; and this indicates that the divine Spirit, or Father, condemns material man and remands him to dust.”

Although the 2^nd chapter of Genesis describes failure from beginning to end, it is still helpful in that it exposes the mental workings of evil.  We learn that guilt, fear, illness, selfishness, hatred and failure deceive and manipulate a matter-trapped mentality.  But a SPIRIT-induced state of thinking is empowered to be healthy, intelligent, and prolific.  Spiritual comprehension remands evil to dust. 

Matthew 10:1 (21st Century King James Version)

   And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

Eddy: “Entirely separate from the belief and dream of material living is the Life divine, revealing spiritual understanding and the consciousness of man’s dominion over the whole earth.”

A Christ-induced state of mind separates illness, mistakes and failure from the person.  Once they are no longer beguiling they disintegrate.  In turn, we discover new spiritual powers to accomplish more good. 

Acts 14:8-10 (Worldwide English (New Testament))

 ⁸At Lystra a man was sitting. He was not able to walk because he had no strength in his feet. He had never walked since he was born. ⁹This man heard Paul speak. Paul looked at the man. He saw that the man believed he would be healed. ¹⁰Paul said, `Stand up on your feet!' The man jumped up and walked.

Eddy: “We must look where we would walk, and we must act as possessing all power from Him in whom we have our being.”

We have our health, intelligence and life in MIND/SPIRIT, and not in feeble and deceiving corporeality.  Therefore everything that expresses GOOD is attainable.

 ¹⁸ Our faces are not covered with a veil. We all display the Lord's glory. We are being changed to become more like him so that we have more and more glory. And the glory comes from the Lord, who is the Holy Spirit.

Because our core essence is a part of SPIRIT we can learn to emit more of our SPIRIT-propelled splendor, magnificence and prosperity.
